Planning for Lower Kiski Search & Rescue began late in the summer of 2003. After training and certifying a handful of members to the Pennsylvania DCNR Field Team Member and Field Team Leader standards, the search team became a deployable resource in 2005 and was eventually incorporated into the new Special Operations Division created in 2007. LoKi SAR joined the Pennsylvania Search & Rescue Council in 2008 and is now a part of Lower Kiski's newly formed Rescue Division. We currently have 6 members and two certified K-9's with six additional dogs in training. 3 members are cerified SAR Tech level 2 and 1 member is SAR Tech level 3 certified with NASAR.
We provide overhead teams, ground searchers and trailing K-9's.
If you have a search emergency, call 911. Only the responsible authority for the search may have us dispatched by calling 1-877-319-9910 (Armstrong County 911) or 1-855-727-8326 (PSARC One Call) and requesting Lower Kiski Search and Rescue. We do not do felony or pet searches.
